Diptych with ‘Conversations’
In “Ascension”, vertical black forms rise like sentient silhouettes or flame-like beings reaching skyward, suspended in a liminal realm between shadow and radiance. Against a moody charcoal backdrop, a singular column of radiant gold slices through the centre — a beacon of light, spirit, or transformation. The gold is echoed in a luminous sun hovering in the top right, anchoring the work in a sense of cosmic order.
The black tendrils are thick, textural, and almost molten — like entities in motion, caught mid-transmutation. Their small golden highlights suggest the spark of consciousness awakening within the darkness. Subtle etched lines, abstract white forms, and the glimmers of red energy add to the layered narrative, alluding to structures unseen and pathways unfolding.
Ascension is both solemn and hopeful — a visual metaphor for transcendence, awakening, and the journey from density to light. It speaks to the resilience of the soul rising through darkness into illumination.
