This painting was born from the quiet power of the Margaret River landscape. The ancient stones that scatter across its earth have always felt like guardians to me — enduring forms that hold both memory and silence. They stand weathered yet unwavering, speaking of strength that does not shout, but simply exists.
The vastness of the sky above and the solidity of the rocks below create a hall of stillness, a place where strength and peace are inseparable. In painting this work, I wanted to honour that timeless resilience — the grounded wisdom of the land that has always sustained us.
For me, these stone forms echo the deeper truth of Margaret River: that strength can be gentle, and peace can be powerful.
