Heaven is Immeasurable is a deeply personal meditation on grief, remembrance, and the uncontainable nature of love and spirit. I painted this piece as a way to honour my Transylvanian heritage and the memory of my Hungarian musician father, André Schuster.
Two spectral figures stand side by side: one grounded in this earthly realm, cloaked in warmth and crowned with blooming red roses — a symbol of vitality, lineage, and embodied remembrance. The other, rendered in translucent blues and violets, feels less of this world. To me, this ethereal figure may represent an interdimensional being — a Blue Avian or an entity of extraterrestrial persuasion. Their form is dissolving, almost weeping into the veil, inviting us to consider the presence of unseen guardians or cosmic ancestors walking beside us.
The phrase “Heaven is Immeasurable” floats above them like a whispered truth — reminding me that what we feel, remember, and reach toward in spirit cannot be defined or measured. The dripping blues and greens behind them echo the tears and prayers of mourning, while the radiant florals simultaneously celebrate life’s fleeting beauty.
This painting is my love letter to the invisible — to the sacred connections that transcend form, to the divine mystery that lives within memory, and to the unseen guides who walk with us always.
