Triptych with Love Series II and III
This piece is a devotion—a distillation of all that is sacred, fierce, and untamed within the heart. Love Series I came through me like an offering—part glyph, part sigil, part transmission. At its centre: the alchemical fire of love, not as romance, but as force. As essence. As divine remembering.
I began with gold leaf, knowing it needed to be both radiant and imperfect. I applied chemical patinas and burnishing techniques to disturb the surface—transforming the metal into a living skin, textured and scarred with time. For me, love has always lived in this paradox: it illuminates and it dissolves; it heals and it sears.
In the centre, a heart-shape emerged organically—a fluid container holding the presence of a bird, or perhaps a phoenix, mid-flight. I see it as the spirit of love itself, rising from the inner flame, encased but not confined. Its wings are open, yet its form is held. Within it, the anatomy of devotion breathes—raw, glowing, alive.
Piercing through it is an iridescent arrow—painted with silver, but carrying the resonance of light language. It does not wound; it awakens. It aligns. It reminds me that love’s path is never linear. It’s a spiral, a crossing, a cosmic agreement. The arrow bisects the heart not in destruction, but in sacred geometry—uniting above and below, soul and body, shadow and illumination.
To the right, a dance of small raised dots spirals upward—a kind of energetic residue, the echo of love in motion. A trail, a signature, a trace of something immeasurable.
Love Series I is not just about emotion. It is about the architecture of the heart-space—the unseen intelligence that governs connection, transformation, and truth. It is my visual prayer for remembering that love is not soft—it is sovereign. And when we let it, it becomes the greatest arrow of all: piercing illusions and returning us to ourselves.
