Painting for me is a form of meditation and expression of my current state of self. I paint the underlying narrative on the subsurface and then the story of the paintings progress in my mind during daylight and sleeping hours with days passing. The surfaces are progressively built up and frequently ‘cracked’ intentionally along with multiple layers and shades of gold.
I repeatedly paint over the same shapes removing colour and reapplying colour until the final image outcome feels satisfying and finalised.
I discover something unexpected, grounded and where layers form, line and expression are woven together. Mysticism, philosophy and curiosity are the frequent elements underlying my work.
The Covenant triptych was inspired by the period surrounding the total solar eclipse and the portals opening on 8.4.24.

Here, a single golden moon floats in deep space—celestial, timeless, and luminous. It is not a symbol; it is a presence. Gilded with 24ct gold leaf and burnished with care, its surface carries both brilliance and wear. The moon is whole and eternal, yet textured by the passing of inner and outer time. Beneath it, a red band of earth anchors the energy—suggesting bloodline, body, root. Illumination speaks of the inner moon within us all, the silent light that persists after eclipse. In this final piece, stillness becomes radiance, and memory becomes glow.
